Sharing your passion

,,,,,

When you decide to go into an MLM, the most important thing to decide on is what you want to "share" with others.

What do you love?

  • Candles
  • Spa Products
  • Home Cleaning Products and housewares
  • Services
  • Cooking

It’s important that you pick something you are already interested in for your success to be possible. If you try to sell something you don’t like, you’re not going to have the best outcome right from the start. When you pick your passion, it is easier to sell by the nature of your enjoyment of the product showing through like the sun during a cloudy day!

Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Preparing National Media Campaign

ADA, Okla., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.  Chairman & CEO Harland Stonecipher has announced the company’s intent to undergo a national media campaign beginning in late September. The purpose of the campaign, Stonecipher said, is to increase the awareness and familiarity of the Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Life Events Legal Plan(R).

“A recent survey conducted by a nationally-known and respected organization spurred our efforts to secure a national spotlight for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.,” said Stonecipher. The survey targeted active Pre-Paid Legal members, canceled members, Pre-Paid Legal associates and the general public (non-Pre-Paid Legal members). “A few of the key points brought to light by this survey are, first, relatively untapped and untouched, the market is huge. The survey specifically indicated ‘The market potential for Pre-Paid Legal plans is large. Based on direct market feedback, it is potentially $5 billion — and under-penetrated.’ Second, the general public was found to be largely unaware as to what a Pre-Paid Legal plan is. The survey continued, ‘Market awareness is somewhat low.’ We are taking immediate steps to begin expanding market awareness, and solidify our brand in this huge market.”

According to Stonecipher, “Many people remain skeptical when facing the rule of law. However, Pre-Paid Legal members receive access to high quality lawyers for a low monthly cost through Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. No longer is it a requirement to pay a high dollar professional hourly rate to a lawyer every time life happens.”

The television campaign will not be directed to consumers purchasing the legal service plan from the television show. Rather, the goal will be to educate and inform viewers about the revolutionary product we offer. All sales of products and recruiting of sales associates will be done by our present sales associates.

“We have enjoyed tremendous success and growth as a ‘word-of-mouth’ marketing company,” Stonecipher said. “Research has demonstrated very clearly that increasing market awareness is crucial to reaching the next step in our growth. This national media spotlight will support the efforts of our marketing sales force, and should result in increased sales and recruiting.”

Stonecipher said Pre-Paid is currently in negotiations with several media outlets. No contract has been secured as of release of this announcement, but negotiations are expected to be finalized before September 1. The program itself, tentatively entitled “Justice for All,” will feature former State of Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore as host/narrator.

“We are looking for the best way possible to reach the most viewers,” Stonecipher said. “This is a historic step for our Company. We have never embarked on such a campaign in our 35 years. But, we believe the timing has never been more favorable — a large need exists and we have a product to meet that need at an affordable price.”

7/30/2007 - Update

Hubby left the house first thing this morning - to get it DONE.

Hearing the phone call last night (the weekly teleconference) really opened his eyes to how important a WHY is in your business. In *any* business.

The example they gave? You’re going to LOVE this…

“What if someone told you that they were going to shoot one of your children if you didn’t sign up two people by Tuesday? You’d do it, wouldn’t you? So why would it take something THAT drastic, THAT severe…to make you change your ways?”

I saw hubby’s eyes light up - he GOT it! I’m really excited because he’s back to the normal intensity that he had that first week - and that’s vitally important because the intensity is what sells.

I’ll update when he gets home and let you  know what happens.

7/29/2007 - Update - Sunday night call summary

You have to have a WHY - the thing that will DRIVE you to actually DO what needs to be done.

WHY = What Hurts You? Are you ashamed you don’t have enough money? Are you hurting because you want to own your own home but can’t afford it?

What will DIE for your WHY?

What are you willing to give up to achieve your WHY?

When are you going to make the change to achieve what you want?

What’s the line in the sand … that you’re going to achieve it by a certain date. Then don’t lie about it. Be true to your why. Be proud of what your “WHY” is.

If your WHY doesn’t make you cry it’s not big enough. It’s got to be big enough to make you do it when you’re not

Get a picture of your why and put it everywhere and look at it when you wake up and when you go to bed, because you have to do things every day that you may not want to do to achieve your dream.

You have to use your WHY to cut through negativity, to cut through “nos” to cut through your mood, to cut through everything that will keep you from your dream.

People are depending on you to change - to take advantage of this opportunity of a lifetime to do something different - counting on you NOT to quit - counting to you to get past the NOs!

Be clear on what you want. Be clear on what you’re willing to give up. Be clear on your plan for success…

THEN GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!

7/24/2007 – Tuesday - Update

11:54am
Hubby left the house with 30 fliers and a dream. I’m kidding about the dream. There is an in-person meeting tonight and hubby wants to try and get one or both of the house niche guys as well as anyone else he can rustle up to go there with him tonight.  The speakers at the in-person events are really vibrant and know their stuff. They answer questions and have heard and handled every objection you could think to throw at them. Most (if not all) of them are already earning 6 figures in the business. That’s powerful stuff.

It also makes it easier on a new associate to get people in front of someone that knows what they’re talking about. We know this is a good thing, and that the product is solid…but translating that to someone else (while addressing questions, etc.) can make you look flustered and “off”

It’s far better to be safe and let the 3rd party materials do the selling for you! (DVDs, Magazines, and Meetings.) Hubby should be checking in via phone later today. My fingers are crossed.

 7:30pm
He’s talked to several interested parties, but he’s going to need a good follow-up system to keep in touch with these people. Even an excel spreadsheet.

One of the techniques he’s using is to approach someone and ask them if their manager is a motivated person that likes to leverage existing clients into greater profits. This will do one of two things:

  1. The person will give an honest assessment of management and pass along the information.
  2. They will look at it themselves and ask hubby if “anyone” is allowed to sell the product.

Talk about a win-win, right?

9:53pm
Hubby got home from a local meeting. They focused a lot on selling to small businesses and groups rather than individuals.  Hubby says they didn’t have a good attitude about  selling and would try once and then walk away from an opportunity.  (That’s not the way to be, by the way!)

But he was excited because they taught him a new technique to talk to a small biz. They said to go in and say “Hi we need to update your information to put you in a free directory for a year!” I told hubby this wasn’t the best plan because as an Office Manager (in my former life) I used to blow them off as icky salespeople immediately and never let them publish us.

I suggested he go in and present the online listing as a “win-win” where hubby ADMITS to the lead that in exchange for a listing in this directory, hubby gets to keep him as a warm lead. If it makes sense to a business owner, they’ll generally do it. One thing that people know is that other people do not give businesses things for free…but if you’re up front about what you ARE getting out of it then the business owner can make a fair assessment of how that will affect the business, and they’ll be far more likely to say yes.

7/23/2007 – Monday - Update

Hubby talked to two house niche people and one seemed very interested to the point of asking him not to talk to anyone else in the office because he wanted to position himself as the “go to” person (aka make more money) – greed is a very effective motivator and I think that sounds very positive for us.

The other house niche person is checking his agreement with his company to make sure that what he wants to do is legal within company guidelines. This is great! If it works within his agreement, even if he decides not to do it, that means we will know going into any other person’s office that we can say “This does work with your agreement” and will look even more on the ball than usual!

WooHoo!

11:45pm
There’s a PLAN!

11:54pm
I was premature – I thought there was a plan, but it was just the beginning of a plan.

12:57am
I’m not entirely sure we have what I would consider to be a solid plan…but I think it just might work.

Here’s what we’ve got so far:

  • Monday: 1 hr calling off of lead list /3 prospect calls to house niche
  • Tueseday: Put out 30 fliers /3 calls to prospects /Goal: Three people to in person meeting
  • Wednesday: Make proposal for local cable access (in order to schedule local interviews and meet people) / Research leads for 1 hr / Get information on volunteer position at highly visible local not-for-profit in town.
  • Thursday: Local area networking meetings (1AM 2-3PM)
  • Friday: Find places to give seminars to groups (eg libraries, churches) & contact 1st person from money niche.

List making and planning and yawning, oh my!

Hubby’s spent the last fifteen minutes making a list of all the available meetings throughout the week that he could potentially invite/bring a guest to. I’m thinking this is something he could have had me do while he was at work, but for some reason he didn’t. (For those that don’t know, the meetings are places where a presentation is given so a newbie doesn’t have to explain everything. This way they’re listening to an experienced speaker and are surrounded by many people with knowledge about the business far greater than Hubby’s.)  It’s part of the system to bring people to meetings until you’ve been to enough of them that you know it by heart and can then customize it to your personality and life experience.

He was working, perhaps forgot I was available while he was slinging lattes. This worries me because it’s administrative work that’s not really part of the “planning the week” process that I had envisioned when we talked about planning the evening.

Also, he wanted to know when he was going to have time available during the week. I think you write down everything you want to do for the week and then fit it to the time….but he wants to get the time blocks sorted and then fit things into the time slots.

I worry that things get lost that way. We shall see. I swore to hubby that this was his business and I was a willing participant and assistant and seller in my own right to my own prospects, but he’s the “talk to strangers” guy so I want to let him do what he needs to do to be okay.

Online debut

I’m just waiting for Randy to get home and we’re going to go over the plan for the week.

Was in an online networking chat tonight and debuted the MLM to the crowd and they seemed really receptive and happy for me. We then talked about MLM not being horrible and skeezy like so many people think and that people who own businesses see it in a different light because they understand, especially if they’ve ever done internet marketing or affiliate marketing that paying down two tiers is just good business sense for an e-book or whatever…why is it evil when it’s a service or a product?

Why do people think that a multi level sales system is evil? I mean, there isn’t just one guy making money on all the people…what about corporate? What about customer service? There are employees of this company as well, it’s just the sales force that’s MLM…which mean’s it’s not a pyramid scheme because there are people in the company that do a job and get a paycheck.

Right?

I’ll update again after the plan is put in place. Then we can see if we hit our weekly goals.

Worried but hopeful

Hubby’s home from work, watched some TV to relax and veg after work…we’re making a plan now…right? RIGHT?
